Kondor

Laszlo KONDOR (Fugyivásárhely, HU 1941) is a self-taught 20th century photographer of Hungarian heritage working in and for America from 1961-1996. An inquisitive outsider, Kondor constantly grew, changed, and expanded his vision and his images. He captured his predominantly human subjects whether they were found on the streets of Chicago, in the Vietnam War, or in his own commercial studio.  American politicians, famous celebrities, beautiful models, commissioned advertising and personal projects such as Chicago’s extraordinary architecture are all included in his 35 year oeuvre. Kondor has taught photography at Harrington Institute of Design in Chicago, and photojournalism at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He designed a post-graduate course in photojournalism at the C.I.J, Center for Independent Journalism in Budapest,Hungary. Member of the Association of Hungarian Photographers since 2019.
