The Association of Hungarian Photographers announces a scholarship program for students in higher education. The Association is committed to a diverse vision, therefore it wishes to support students who want to realize their independent projects side by side their studies.
The program is open to all students with active student status in Hungarian higher education. The applicant must take into account their earlier oeuvre, as well as prepare a synopsis for the project desired to implement in the year of the scholarship. The three scholars from the given year are selected by a professional committee. The scholarship is for one year with a gross aid in the amount of HUF 1 million. The scholarship can be applied for several times, as long as the applicant meets the conditions of the tender.
The Scholars' work is helped by the members of the Association as much as required, and after the tender year they present and show their complete works on a group exhibition.
Call for Applications
The Association of Hungarian Photographers announces a competition for students in higher education to win the Association of Hungarian Photographers – photography scholarship in the year 2018.
The scholarship aims to help students with arts activities promote the implementation of their ideas. The Association wants to contribute to creating the conditions necessary for the birth of high-quality, progressive, unique artifacts and series.
The program is open to all students with active student status in Hungarian higher education.
Scholarship may be granted to (per year): a maximum of 3 creative artists and 1 theoretical researcher
Scholarship duration: 1 year (from 1 January 2018 until 31 December 2018)
Deadline for entries: 31 October 2017
The evaluation of the applications: 30 November 2017
Scholarship amount: HUF 1,000,000 gross / year and HUF 500.000 for theoretical researcher
The scholarship does not qualify as tax-exempt income under the personal income tax law, therefore in accordance with existing laws, a reduced amount of deductions will be paid.

The application form and the declaration are available at the website of the Association of Hungarian Photographers for download. Proof of student status documents must be obtained by all applicants at their own institution of higher education.
In terms of content and formal elements of the portfolio, there is no restriction. The image material must be assembled to reflect the applicant's previous work.
The applicant must prepare the project plan that they want to realize in the year of the scholarship. The synopsis should include the theme idea and concept implementation of the process.
The deadline to submit the application is 31 October 2017, this deadline is a term of preclusion, completion of documents is possible before this date. The applications should be sent to the e-mail address email@example.com.
Invalid application, provided that:
- does not meet the tender conditions
- deficient documentation supplied
- the application form or declaration containing incorrect information
- missing the given deadline
Applications will be judged by a commitee invited by the Association of Hungarian Photographers.
The Association of Hungarian Photographers will notify all applicants of the result in writing within 15 days of the decision. E-mail notification constitutes as a written notice. The decision can not be appealed against, any formal objections may be addressed to the Association of Hungarian Photographers (1065 Budapest, Nagymező u. 20) in person within 15 days of receipt of the decision.
The winning applicants the Association of Hungarian Photographers contract with. The Association of Hungarian Photographers provides the disbursement of the scholarship following the signing by both parties of the agreement.
The scholarship awarded students have reporting obligations, the performance of the scholarship period in December 2018 should be presented by exhibiting their works.
The Scholars will have the opportunity to choose a mentor from the members of the Association of Hungarian Photographers. The mentor consults with the Scholar in order to help the realization of its project.
The Scholars' completed works will be presented within the confines of a collective exhibition after the tender year.
The completed entries can be shown on the website of the Association of Hungarian Photographers', in publications and other communication channels can be published. The works can be used to the propagation of the scholarship program, other related releases referring to them can be in complete allusion shared.
